Sean is a UK-qualified field hockey coach and umpire with over 20 years of playing and coaching experience across various UK clubs. He also serves as the Head Coach for the Whitfield School Varsity Field Hockey Team.
Sean says field hockey has been a lifelong passion of mine—truly part of who I am. My father played at the highest level in the UK, Germany, and Holland, and his love for the game inspired both me and my two younger brothers to follow in his footsteps. I practically grew up on the sidelines of a hockey pitch, stick in hand before I could even walk! I’ve played at the UK regional level and have been coaching since I was 18. You could say hockey runs in our family’s blood!
In recent years, I’ve transitioned from being primarily a player to focusing more on coaching—a natural shift as experience (and maybe a little less speed!) set in. Back in the UK, I’ve coached teams from U8s to adult men’s and women’s 1st teams competing in regional leagues. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of coaching players who’ve gone on to represent England and Great Britain, and I’ve even shared the field with a few GB Olympians in my playing days.
My family and I—especially my son—are thrilled to be part of the STL Force journey, and we can’t wait to see you out on the pitch!
